Inside, sidewalk or both

Every top in this group lists indoor use, and 15 also list patio use. The rest stay in the shop. Anything without a patio listing belongs indoors, and outdoor exposure is not covered by the warranty.

A patio top needs a patio base under it. Check the base listing too, because a top cleared for the sidewalk on a base that is not cleared still makes an indoor table sitting outside. For bases that are, open outdoor table bases. When the season ends, rinse the top, let it drain, then cover the table or carry it in.

Shape, size and price

A two-top starts at 24 by 24 inches, and nobody loves it. The standard is 24 by 30, and 30 by 30 is generous. Round tops start at 36 inches for four in close quarters, while a round of 42 to 48 inches holds four to six. At 7:30 AM, with a laptop open and a cup beside it, the generous two-top wins.

A round top asks for a round foot of at least two thirds its width, so pair it with round table bases. Square and rectangular tops can sit on a standard-height base, which puts the table near 29 to 30 inches. Verify the exact pairing on the pages instead of matching components by finish alone.

Care and samples

Closing means wiping every top in the room. Read the care information on each product page and stay with the cleaners it recommends, since damage from the wrong cleaning agent is excluded from warranty coverage.
