Sidewalk tables and chairs that survive the weather

A few tables on the sidewalk add seats without touching the indoor floor plan. Only pieces listed for patio use belong out there, and even those need a rinse, a place for water to drain and a spot to winter. This hub gathers what to look for.

Start with a tape measure

Aluminum, resin, synthetic teak and coated steel are the materials made for the job. Indoor furniture left on the sidewalk fades, swells and rusts, and the warranty won't help. Choose by material first, then by how easily you can carry it in at closing.
