Booths and bench seating for a cafe wall

A booth turns a bare wall into seating and gives the room a fixed point that does not drift out of line by 9 AM. Booths are exempt from the eight-piece order minimum, which suits a shop that only needs one run along the window.

Start with a tape measure

Measure the wall itself, outlets and trim included, before you pick a length. Think about who sits there: couples, laptops and the occasional stroller parked at the end. Pair the booth with tables of the right height, and keep the aisle in front of it clear enough for a tray.
